I know, I know, it’s been such a long time since I’ve done one of those, and I feel like one needs to be done. So. Ahem. I shall just wave my dainty little wand and not make sure that Dumbledore’s Army is a thing. So. Ahem.
I happily found this short little tag on My Tiny Obsessions. Let us now get started.
Thank you to Victoria @ Addlepates and Book Nerds for the nomination! This is very important to me because I, as a blogger, have never been nominated for anything before!
- What is your favorite music genre? Currently, electronic. Songs like Faded, Sceptre (going with the Alan Walker theme here). I can’t really think of any more. Oh, and dance pop.
- Team Britney or Team Avril? I have no answer.
- Do you read comic books? Why/why not? The only comics that I read are Calvin and Hobbes. Calvin is such an interesting six-year-old, and his stuffed/real tiger is a different character than all I’ve ever read about. Plus, Bill Watterson is such a good artist! Even the pictures make me laugh and they really add to the story.
- What’s your favorite(s) movie(s)? I think I’ve watched Jumanji a couple hundred times too many. And a more recent? Zootopia. It has a very strong message that I enjoyed. Nick Wilde is awesome! I really, truly want to have a character in one of my stories modeled after him.
- Do you have a favorite actress? What about a favorite actor? EMMA WATSON ALL. THE. WAY.
- What’s your favorite book genre? Ummm…young adult or fantasy. I’m just getting into romance.
- What is your Hogwarts house? #SlytherinPride
- What are your chances at surviving a zombie apocalypse? I took this quiz that Victoria used and got 62.7%.
- How would you describe your writing style?
- What are some of your obsessions (they don’t have to be about books)?
- What OTP would you absolutely most want? What are some ship that you ship dearly?
- Series or trilogies?
- Are you a Shadowhunter? If so, what family? What other fandoms do you belong to?
- What Hogwarts house pairing are you in (for example, I’m a Slytherclaw)?
- And finally, list some random facts about what you like to read.
- Thank the person that nominated you.
- Answer the questions the nominee has given.
- Write questions for other nominees.
- Nominate other bloggers.
- Notify your nominees.
Again, thank you hermionefowl for nominating me! You guys should go check her out, btw 🙂
Darth Veda @ Crown Print
Ally, Melia, & Laurena @ The Immortal Readers
Analee @ Book Snacks
Thank you icebreaker694 for tagging me, and check her out! I am tagging people for this one because I was tagged, so check at the bottom to see who was nominated.
Let’s go, this is a long one!
How do you keep track of your TBR pile?
I usually have a post every month or so under Monthly TBR (my most recent one here) that holds about five to six books that I want to read (it’s quite short, actually).
How do you determine which book from your TBR to read next?
I have a top two books that I really want to read, and I look for those in the library first. If I don’t find those, I look for all the others.
A book that’s been on your TBR list the longest?
Eye of Minds. A very, very , very long time; ever since I finished reading The Death Cure.
A book you recently added to your TBR?
Six of Crows. I read on so many blogs that I just had to add it to the list.
A book on your TBR strictly because of its beautiful cover?
Shatter Me. Just look at the cover. Nothing more needs to be said.
The waterfall, tho. No joke.
A book on your TBR that you never plan on reading?
Probably The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. It seems really old fashioned and I’m kinda iffy about reading it.
An unpublished book on your TBR that you’re excited for?
I don’t really have one at the top of my mind, but I am excited for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (the new HP movie)! Comment below if you are too 🙂
I book on your TBR that everyone has read but not you?
These aren’t on my Monthly TBR list, but I want to read Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. Also, The Heir by Kiera Cass.
A book on your TBR that everyone recommends to you?
Six of Crows! All of the bloggers I have read have recommended it to me!
A book on your TBR that you’re dying to read?
Sorry…Six of Crows again. The cover looks so beautiful and it looks so beautiful and the story looks so well written and….
How many books are on your Goodreads TBR shelf?
I don’t use Goodreads as a TBR shelf, but I do have around seven to ten books that I can think of that I want to read.
And here are are the people I tag for this book tag:
Pegasus & Unicorn @ Pegacorn Paperbacks
Analee @ Book Snacks
Victoria @ Addlepates and Book Nerds
Samantha, Jessie, and Ashley @ Spines & Covers
Charlotte @ Wonderfully Bookish
As always, I officially tag anyone who wants to do it, just link back here!
Thanks so much, guys!
This isn’t actually a book tag, it’s more about me. I found this from Victoria @ Addlepates and Book nerds, so thanks so much!
A – Age: 12 (young, I know, I get that a lot)
B – Book you are reading: The Elite and The Wild Ones
C – Chore you hate: Putting up my clothes. I will never, ever do it and will either throw them in my drawer or make my sister sort them. I don’t even use that many clothes a week.
D – Dessert you love: I love anything sweet. Cake (if it’s the right kind, like cookie cake or tiramisu), cookies, ice cream
E – Essential start your day item: That depends. I don’t really have a set routine. Sometimes I wake up at 5:00 if I want to take a shower that morning, then I might read or blog until I have to go down stairs to eat breakfast. Or if I don’t feel like getting up, I will sleep until the last minute and throw on some clothes for school. But I have never missed breakfast.
F – Favourite author/ book: HARRY POTTER AND J.K. ROWLING FOREVAH
H – Height: 5’2″
I – Instruments you play: The piano.
J – Job title: Middle school student, and I tutor the neighborhood kids and my friend’s sister.
K – Kid(s): None!
L – Living arrangements: With my dad and little sister
M – Most overused word/phrase in your vocabulary: I have to agree with Victoria on this one: “like” it is!
N – Nicknames: Mostly from school teachers and friends…Nae-Nae, Neehaw, some others like that.
O – Overnight hospital stay other than birth: Never, not really.
P – Pet Peeve: I hate it when people have bed grammar and spelling! It bothers me so much; I’m such a perfectionist when it comes to these things!
Q- Quotes you like: Any one related to Harry Potter, but the funniest one might be: “I mean, I can imagine not being as pricey as Jason or Percy, but am I worth, like, two or three Franks?” (I know that one by heart.) Really, any by Leo is good!
R – Right or left handed: Right.
S – Siblings: 7-year-old sister
T – Time you woke up today: 5:00! That took effort…
U – Unique thing about you: A lot of my friends say I’m really smart…but I would say that I’m “tragically funny and good-looking”–another Leo quote! JK 🙂 But I am funny 😛
V – Vegetable you love: Aahh…baked potatoes with sour cream and cheese, or raw carrots, or raw cabbage/lettuce…
W – Worst habit: “Procrastinating. I can be really organised, and know exactly what I have to do, but just don’t get around to doing it…” said by Victoria, and I agree!
X – X-rays you’ve had: None, other than the ones they give at the dentist.
Y – Yummy food you make: I can make delicious…uh…water…TEA…
Z – Zodiac Sign: Libra!
I’m not tagging anyone…anyone who wants to do it may do so!!!
Found this from Victoria @ Addlepates and Booknerds!
Here it goes!
Reading on the bed, or on the couch? Bed. I can’t sleep without reading before bed.
Male, or female main character? Even though I am a feminist, I am absolutely fine with a male main character. However, I tend to write from a female POV.
Sweet, or salty snacks while reading? Both. I love any sweets, and chips are my reading snack.
Trilogies, or quartets? I love trilogies! They are simple, but most tend to become quartets.
First-person, or third-person POVs? Third-person. I love that a lot better because it seems more professional, and I feel like I’m intruding on personal space when I read first.
Reading at night, or in the morning? Night, duh. So I can read in bed!
Bookstores, or libraries? Ahhh, libraries. They have everything without cluttering my house with books (you can never have to many, tbh, but its too much work to clean up when they’re absolutely everywhere) and spending too much.
Books that make you laugh, or cry? Laugh, because I love it.
Black, or white book covers? I don’t know. Black, I guess, with silver.
Character, or plot-driven stories? A book with a good plot will steal my heart.
Again, I’m not nominating anyone specific for this, I’m doing anyone who would like to do it!
I visited Spines and Covers the other day and came across this wonderful and original tag, so I thought I’d do it (she links to Jay G on YouTube, the creator of the tag). It seemed interesting enough. And if you want to do the tag go ahead and do it anyway (I haven’t listed anyone)! (Pingback or link to your blog in the comments if you do it!)
January (GARNET): Associate with warding off negative forces and dark energies – Name a book with the darkest/evilest character you can think of.
Ohhh, even the first one makes me choose. I want to say The Maze Runner with WICKED and all that. The whole idea of the organization with good intentions really creeps me out, but we all know that they aren’t to be trusted.
FEBRUARY (AMETHYST): PURPLE IS ASSOCIATED WITH ROYALTY – NAME A BOOK WITH REGAL QUALITIES… YOU CAN BASE THIS OFF OF CHARACTERS OF CHOOSE THE KING OF ALL BOOKS
The Lunar Chronicles. Definitely. Levana is queen.
March (AQUAMARINE): Washed out – Name a ‘wishy washy’ character, a character who is not strong or a follower
Not strong? I would say The Infernal Devices (finished the first book, TBR the second and third). Jessamine is someone who is a ‘proper lady’, someone who wouldn’t want to be a leader. That doesn’t mean she isn’t strong, though.
APRIL (DIAMOND): A DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH – NAME A BOOK THAT YOU LOVED BUT IS NOT WELL KNOWN
The Wild Ones. I’m not sure how well known it is, but none of my friends have ever recommended it to me.
May (EMERALD): Said to balance energy – Name two characters who balance each other well
I have to agree with Samantha @ Spines and Covers with this one: Harry and Hermione. One of them is really smart and cautious, and the other is super reckless.
JUNE (PEARL): ASSOCIATED WITH LOYALTY – NAME A CHARACTER WHO IS LOYAL TO THE END
Eeni from The Wild Ones. Howl to snap, guys. She stays with Kit until the very end.
July (RUBY): Blood red – Name a book that made your blood boil, one that made you angry
More like six books: The Mortal Instruments. Seeing Jace and Clary together…they seemed right together, but not together.
AUGUST (PERIDOT): PALE GREEN (IT PALES IN COMPARISON TO OTHER GEMS) – NAME A SUPPORTING CHARACTER WHO YOU LIKE BETTER THAN THE MAIN CHARACTER
Eeni again. She is my type; smart and cunning. And most of all, loyal. Kit really didn’t make the cut. I mean, sure, he’s nice and all, but he didn’t come to me.
September (SAPPHIRE): Blue like the ocean which is calming – Name a book that had a calming affect on you
The Raft. Maybe I’m a psychopath, but the book just lulled me to sleep. Not that it was boring, but there wasn’t much action and the way it described scenes was calming.
OCTOBER (OPAL): IRIDESCENT – NAME AN IRIDESCENT BOOK, THIS CAN BE A BOOK WITH A BEAUTIFUL COVER (SHINY? LOTS OF COLOUR?) OR YOU CAN BASE IT OFF OF A CHARACTER (QUIRKY? COLOURFUL?)
The Clockwork Angel. I still haven’t figured out whether the book cover was gold, purple, or silver. So is the rest of the series.
November (TOPAZ): Associated with resilience – Name a books with a character who rises to the top in a time of adversity
Seth from Dark Water Rising. The book itself wasn’t my type, but the character had to step up to his father’s shoes when the 1900 Galveston hurricane hit at destroyed almost everything he ever had.
DECEMBER (BLUE ZIRCON): ASSOCIATED WITH FRIENDSHIP – NAME A BOOK WITH A FRIENDSHIP YOU WANT TO BE APART OF
Harry Potter forever :). I can’t imagine my life without it. The Golden Trio has such a strongly created bond of love that it’s hard to let go.
My first book tag, as you guys may know, so I’m not going to tag anyone on this.
